v04 Updates and Discord

Hello Brigands!

First up, I want to invite you all to join our Discord Channel! We're organizing games of Brinkwood, talking shop, posting memes, and having a grand old time. Hope to see ya'll there! https://discord.gg/9P6AQgW

We've rolled out a new update of Brinkwood, with the following changes and fixes:

Changelog v04

Player Reference and GM Reference have been updated to reflect rules changes.

Added a "Getting Started" section and streamlined the process into the first session.

p.23 added "Mask Bargains" section as a new rule.

Major updates to Character Creation, including moving traits off of "Folk" and onto professions, removing Special equipment, as well as making the choices / process of character creation more streamlined and explanatory.

Added "Saboteur" as a class option.

p.45 Added exploitation for how fae pacts effect the game.

p.46 Added "Fae Courts", groupings of fae based on different revolutionary approaches, with the goal of focusing a campaign and providing greater context to the actions of the Fae.

p.47, Expanded Fae Creation, with the option of playing an "Exquisite Corpse" style minigame to develop your fae collaboratively.

p.51, Added a section on the "Nature of Masks", so that groups can make decisions about the fiction of Masks up-front in their campaign.

p51, Added a "Swearing the Pact" section, providing different options for how groups might narratively swear themselves to the revolution.

p53, Added a faction-picking minigame to establish starting resources and starting relationships with potential allies.

p56. Added "Masks in the Mechanics" to explain how mask actions and abilities are meant to work both mechanically and narrative.

p57. Adjusted "Taunt" as it seemed a bit under-powered / didn't have a lot of utility in a fiction-first / theater of the mind style game.

p70. Added a new "Ruin" mask that I hope ya'll will like :D

The Foray - Lots of adjustments here. I expanded some of the "set up" of a foray, including setting the location, opportunity, and goal up-front, and provided some guidance on how players and GM can work together to put together a good Foray "in the moment" without using the previous reconnaissance rules, which were proving cumbersome / difficult to understand.

p80 - Add a note suggesting that some aspects of Downtime could be moved to the Campaign Turn, as it is currently a lot of book-keeping that doesn't immediately effect the fiction.

p88 - Added some rules on how to train up Cohorts. This isn't fully fleshed out yet.

p90-91 - Added some rules on how to spend black powder or steel to arm a town or village to make them more resilient to seiges / vampire attacks.

p95 - Started sketching out how Cohorts will work, as well as Experts. Very WIP.

p97 - The "Choosing Your Foe" thing got moved up to the introduction, as it really should be an "entire group" choice. I moved the details and enemies of each vampire lord to the Almanac, as that's kind of the "GM Reference" section and it seems more clean to have it broken out from the day-to-day running of the campaign.

p109 - Added a summary of what the GM should do each Campaign Turn to make things a bit clearer, as well as moving "Set Up" to the front instead of burying it at the bottom of the chapter.

p115 - Almanac of Cardenfell: This chapter is basically me throwing together my various notes on the villages, towns, places, and people of Cardenfell. The design isn't pretty yet, and I'm planning to develop it more for usability, but at the moment I hope it helps GMs and Players get a better "feel" for the places and people of Cardenfell.
